Soo Shin’s sculpture and installation-based practice emphasizes materials charged with their own poetry, such as brass, iron, and cedar. She uses these materials to render parts of the human body in uncertain states of transformation. Here, Shin speaks about her practice and a recent body of work she produced at Kohler’s Arts/Industry Residency on the invisibility of labor.
