Listen To 100 Versions Of ‘My Country, ‘Tis Of Thee’ During Miami Art Week 2018

Miami Art Week is a showcase for the city’s visual artists, but a Design District gallery is taking a more musical approach to mark the occasion.
On Thursday at Locust Projects, several volunteer singers and local choirs will perform 100 versions of “My Country, ’Tis of Thee,” which debuted in 1831 and has since been re-written throughout the years.
Chicago-based artist Bethany Collins compiled those versions in her artist book “America: A Hymnal,” the main work in her solo exhibit “The Litany.”
The performance runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit runs until Jan. 26.
